VACUUMS & SWEEPERS
to open up even more opportunities to clean in machine widths up to one metre. In order to capitalise on coverage efficiencies, it’s important to only visit the cleaning site once; look for models that include hooks and holsters for manual tools and rubbish bags to ensure a one-stop clean. For year-round service, the Kärcher KM 80 W P is a walk-behind, petrol-powered sweeper which doubles up as a snow mover in the winter, while multifunction municipal sweepers, combine a sweeper, mower, snow mover, gritter and utility vehicle in one.
On An Incline Kärcher’s Power Plus system, for ride-on petrol or diesel machines is a power boost from the battery – similar to the KERS system on an F1 car – which enables easier uphill driving. Great for use in multi-storey car parks, innovative brush configuration on these models makes negotiating speed bumps and curbs simple too.
For heavy-duty use in distribution centres or construction sites Kärcher’s KM Industrial range is ideal and can cover up to 23,520m²/h. No job is too dusty or dirty for these robust professional sweepers, which offer excellent dust control in the most demanding of applications. Suction and filter facilities in vacuum sweepers ensure clean exhaust air, protecting the surrounding environment from any secondary contamination. TACT filters – a technology transfer from Kärcher’s wet and dry vacuum range – deliver a consistently high level of filtration as both flat pleated filters are cleaned automatically every 15 seconds with a pulse of pressurised air, sending dirt back into the waste container.
Proving manoeuvrability doesn’t need to be sacrificed for area coverage, Kärcher’s KM105 ride-on machines have a turning circle of under 2m yet cover up to 9,800m²/h. There are two models in the range; the 105/100 has two portable 50 litre waste containers, and the 105/110 has a hydraulically powered high-lift waste container of 110 litres.
The entirely new, easy-access brush layout features a main brush situated between the rear wheels, ensuring

that the brush always goes where the wheels go, improving sweeping performance around corners and giving greater ground clearance. The new design also features a centrally- mounted side brush, which automatically lowers to help sweep into corners and around bends. This setup dramatically improves productivity, as corners can now be swept in one movement – impossible with conventional sweeper layouts. The main brush also automatically adjusts to compensate for wear and different sweeping requirements.
In another example of sharing technology between its ranges, the KM 105 is the first sweeper to employ Kärcher’s unique KIK (Kärcher Intelligent Key) system, originally developed for scrubber dryers. KIK is an operator-specific key that enables supervisors to set parameters like speed, brush pressure and even the operating language – considerably reducing brush wear and risk of damage. For users, familiarisation time is kept to a minimum and the machine’s display can appear in a choice of 16 different languages. For the bottom line, as machines can be set to the most efficient usage of power and lowest brush wear, there is a cost, energy and environmental saving.
The newest member of the ride-on Kärcher range, the KM 125/130 R sweeper, launches in the UK this Autumn and has already won the prestigious 2015 Innovation Award at the Pulire show in Italy. The international judging panel chose the Kärcher machine as overall winner from six products in the finals. The panel was especially impressed with the machine’s many innovative features.
With a working width of 125cm, the new KM 125/130 R has an area performance of up to 10,000m²/h (using one side brush). Various configuration options make this a universal machine for use in diverse industrial environments. The machine can also be fitted with Kärcher Fleet analytics so anyone managing a large volume of cleaning machines can remotely monitor specific machine data for optimised use and service.
With numerous drive types and working widths available it’s easy to match a sweeper’s performance to your needs, ensuring you get the most efficient solution for your specific situation. When upfront cost is a concern, talk to the experts; a reputable provider will demonstrate and often let you trial machines to be sure you have the right fit for your business and provide options to hire, lease and manage payment so you can unlock the productivity savings of cleaning technology without the upfront investment.
