Hello and welcome to the July issue of Tomorrow’s Contract Floors.


Summer has finally arrived and I hope you’ve been enjoying some of the sunshine that we’ve been having over the past few weeks. While the warmer weather means that, for the most part, we’ve been able to switch off the central heating, now is actually the perfect time for home or business owners to consider new methods of heating their buildings.


From lowering bills to cutting your carbon footprint there are many benefits to changing to underfloor heating and as the UK government has pledged to bring all greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050, the market will only continue to grow.


This month, we feature a wealth of advice on how to specify the correct underfloor heating system for any project, the right questions you need to be asking suppliers and the key considerations concerning floorcovering types.


Elsewhere in the issue, we take a look at integrated flooring installations which are becoming increasingly popular as designers aim to create a cohesive floorscape while defining set areas. Floor Design Specialist Gemma Passantino, at Amtico, advises on how to mix and match products and collections to achieve impactful designs while meeting the growing demands of commercial spaces. We then take a look at an office refurbishment where designers selected various floorcovering solutions from IVC Commercial to bring fluidity across the layout.
