BAL AF Max by BAL ADDITIONAL ENTRIES

Launched in 2024, BAL AF Max is a highly flexible rubber- crumb adhesive that removes the need for uncoupling mats on problematic substrates.

BAL AF Max has anti-fracture technology that absorbs lateral stress movement from the floor protecting tiles from failures. No other products are needed – just mix and fix.

A high-yield tile adhesive, you can get up to 8.5m² per bag, meaning only four bags are needed for a 30m² area. This compares with 12 bags of tile adhesive and a 30m roll of uncoupling mat for a traditional uncoupling install.

noraplan stone by Interface

Interface has introduced refreshed colourways for its noraplan stone rubber flooring collection. This new range elevates the classic, understated design of the collection with a modern, versatile colour palette, all while providing the performance benefits that nora by Interface is known for.

Designers and specifiers now have 16 colourways and two surface options to choose from. With its discreet, non- directional scatter design, noraplan stone can stand up to the demands of every space while providing an elevated design that takes inspiration from the rich textures and tones of stone.

Kelly Simcox, Head of Global Design at Interface, said: “In 1989, we introduced noraplan stone as the first product to

have contrasting rubber chips in its design, and it’s been a top performer for us ever since.

“With this updated palette, we’re providing architects and designers with new colour and aesthetic options for their projects. We kept a handful of our top-performing colourways and added other on-trend options that align with the needs of our customer, all while standing up to the demands of today’s hardworking interiors.”

Designed for high-traffic areas in schools, hospitals, and public buildings, noraplan stone delivers measurable benefits in durability, resilience, and performance. With electrostatic dissipative and sound-absorbing acoustic options available, the product also meets extended functional requirements.

Nuway Connect Plus by Forbo Flooring Systems

With larger textile inserts and reduced aluminium strips, Nuway Connect Plus is able to accommodate more varied designs, including chevron shaping – typically, a bespoke offering. Forbo’s latest entrance flooring option is made to order, with the ability to create striking designs or logo mats. Available with a choice of four Coral Classic inserts, this allows the primary entrance system to be colour co- ordinated to the secondary matting zone. All inserts can also be replaced on site helping to extend the wear life of the product.

Donna Hannaway, Head of Marketing UK and Ireland from Forbo Flooring Systems, said: “We are committed to providing our customers with a wide variety of high-quality entrance

flooring systems that continually meet varying requirements, current market trends and budget levels. With this in mind, the new collection provides exceptional performance, without comprising on design. This ensures that, no matter the budget or space, we can provide the best possible solution for the job.

“We have also recognised the increased demand for design focused entrance matting, by introducing Nuway Connect Plus Chevron in standard aluminium and black anodised aluminium we are meeting this demand. As an ‘off-the-shelf’ product at a fixed price, it makes specifying chevron entrance matting easier and more accessible for specifiers and end- users alike.”

BAL has calculated that, based on a 30m² install (the average length of a roll of uncoupling mat), BAL AF Max will save fixers and contractors approximately 40% in material costs, 70% in time saving and 70% less material weight.

BAL AF Max has a pot life of 45 minutes and can be grouted in five hours. Crucially, it can be used with most tile types, including certain natural stone, and can be used on a variety of substrates including but not limited to: cement/sand screeds, anhydrite screeds, concrete, bitumen adhesive residues, flooring grade asphalt, glazed ceramic tiles, existing thermoplastic vinyl tiles/sheets, T&G floorboards and plywood overlays and even steel.
