Durabella by Diespeker X Duracryl
Diespeker & Co has long been celebrated for its expertise in bespoke terrazzo, delivering exceptional projects across the decades. Combining traditional craftsmanship with state-of- the-art technology at its South London factory, the company continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in terrazzo design and production.
In early 2025, as part of its commitment to improving sustainability, Diespeker joined forces with Dutch flooring specialist Duracryl to introduce Durabella, a groundbreaking, eco-conscious poured terrazzo. This innovative material is made using Duracryl’s proprietary, chemical-free biopolymer derived from vegetable oil. It contains no substances listed on the Red List and boasts a remarkably low carbon footprint of just 1.6kg/m².
Before adding Durabella to its range, Diespeker carried out extensive in-house testing to ensure it met the same high standards of quality and durability as traditional resin terrazzo – and it passed with flying colours.
Durabella is ideal for seamless flooring, including high-traffic commercial spaces. Its flexibility delivers 40% better sound
absorption than standard resin terrazzo, while also reducing the risk of cracking or crazing. Beyond its impressive performance, Durabella offers outstanding aesthetic and functional versatility, making it suitable not only for flooring but also for precast applications such as worktops, vanity units, reception desks, cladding, and splashbacks.
Diespeker has now transitioned all production of non-standard poured and precast resin terrazzo to Durabella. Current projects include a striking bespoke floor for a West London hotel and a series of countertops and skirting for an event and conference venue in Westminster.
With Durabella now part of its portfolio, Diespeker enables architects, designers, and commercial clients to specify terrazzo that meets the most demanding environmental goals, without compromising on beauty or performance. This collaboration marks a major step forward in Diespeker’s ongoing journey toward greater sustainability within the terrazzo industry.
