EXTRA-LITE RANGE by Palace Chemicals
Today’s flooring market increasingly requires products which are lightweight, to make them easier and more economical to handle and transport, while also being more sustainable to meet environmental requirements set out by main contractors and clients. Palace Chemicals has introduced EXTRA-LITE specifically to meet these requirements of their customers.
The EXTRA-LITE range comprises an ultra-lightweight, thin and thick-bed, flexible tile adhesive, which features a lightweight, highly polymer modified S1 formulation to provide the deformability required for fixing large format tiles and panels or where slight movement or vibration is likely. EXTRA-LITE’s high yield formulation means that a 10kg bag covers the same area as a traditional 20kg bag.
The product’s flexibility makes it suitable for use either internally or externally and also in locations where underfloor heating is installed. Mixed with water, it creates a high-yield, lightweight and easy-to-apply paste with an extended open time and 50% reduced weight for each square metre applied. EXTRA-LITE STANDARD SET has a three-hour working pot-life and it is ready to grout the next day.
In addition to its performance advantages, the EXTRA-LITE range is also a more sustainable choice, since it contains more than 40% recycled materials, with sustainable raw materials taken from low carbon production processes. Furthermore, it provides the same performance, while doubling its coverage capability, meaning that users can transport smaller volumes to each job.
There is also a rapid-set version, EXTRA-LITE FAST SET, that provides all the benefits of the standard product but additionally has a working pot life of up to 60 minutes and cures to allow light foot traffic and grouting within just three hours after application, making it ideal for flooring applications.
