TOOLS & MACHINERY SECRET WEAPONS
Jason Spangler, Wagner Meters’ sales manager, explains the key to faster, easier and more secure concrete moisture testing.
Te DataGrabber connects to the Rapid RH L6 sensor to gather and record the probe’s readings.
Have you ever heard the phrase “work smarter – not harder”? This way of thinking has brought about simple strategies and technologies to automate tasks and make our lives easier – from online grocery pickups to washing machines.
As a flooring installer, how would your life change if you could automate concrete moisture testing? Well, what was once a time-consuming and complicated task would become quick and easy.
Fortunately, thanks to Wagner Meter’s Rapid RH L6, DataGrabber, and DataMaster app, automated concrete moisture testing isn’t a distant dream – it’s a reality.
Learn how these tools can make the moisture measurement process easier, faster, and more secure as we explain:
• What the Rapid RH L6 is • What the DataMaster L6 is • What makes these tools your best option • Where to get yours
We’ll begin by explaining what the Rapid RH L6 is and what it does.
32 WHAT IS THE RAPID RH L6?
The Rapid RH L6 is a relative humidity (RH) in-situ probe designed to measure the moisture level of concrete subfloors.
To use it, all you have to do is drill a hole into your concrete slab, clean out the dust, and place the in-situ probe, or sensor, inside. After waiting for 24 hours, the Rapid RH L6 will provide an accurate moisture reading for the concrete subfloor.
Designed to test as outlined in the ASTM F2170 standard, it is more accurate than other forms of testing. This is because most forms of concrete moisture testing only test the surface of the concrete subfloor. As much of concrete’s moisture lies deep within the concrete slab, hidden from the view of surface testing techniques, a deeper form of moisture testing is required.
As of now, RH in-situ probes are the best moisture testing method because they allow us to measure deep into the slab to get a more accurate picture of how much moisture it contains.
The greater accuracy of Rapid RH L6 lowers installation risks by preventing floorcovering failure due to excess moisture.
It also promotes greater efficiency. It can be connected to a device called a DataGrabber, which enables the moisture readings to be
