The British Institute of Cleaning Science’s (BICSc) Virtual Training Suite is transforming how professional cleaning education is accessed, delivered and completed across the industry.
Developed by BICSc in 2021, it emerged in response to the challenges posed by COVID-19, when face-to-face training became increasingly difficult and at times impossible. The platform offers a modern, flexible and engaging approach to training that empowers cleaning operatives to build essential skills with confidence, no matter where they’re based. The Virtual Training Suite makes high-quality education available to a wider and more diverse audience than ever before.
Aligned closely with the BICSc mission to raise standards within the cleaning industry, every course within the Virtual Training Suite is designed to deliver accurate, practical and relevant guidance. The training incorporates interactive content, step-by-step demonstrations and realistic scenario- based learning to help candidates fully understand best practice techniques.
This not only strengthens their technical ability but also supports improved workplace safety, consistency and professionalism. Learners gain the confidence to apply what they’ve learned in real environments, ensuring that high standards are upheld across all settings.
At BICSc, accessibility remains a core priority and by complementing our face-to-face training with an online option, common barriers such as location, travel, scheduling limitations and associated costs are removed. Candidates can now complete training at a time and pace that suits them, making it easier for employers to upskill teams and for individuals to progress in their careers.
We also continually update our courses to ensure they reflect the latest industry practices, with several courses achieving CPD certification. These enhancements ensure the Virtual Training Suite remains a valuable, inclusive and future- focused learning resource for users across multiple sectors and abilities.
