In other news... Volvo attend Construction Careers Day in Cambridge


In January, Volvo attended a Construction Careers day supported by Highways England and held at Cambridge Regional College.


The event was arranged to showcase the wide range of careers that are available to young people in the construction industry. Volvo took their simulators along to the event to give visitors a feel for what a career as an Operator would be like and Apprentice Engineer Helena Urquhart-Woodward was on hand to speak to visitors.


Helena offered an insight both to operators and potential engineering students from the experience of a first year apprentice.


The event was well attended and the simulators proved popular so hopefully there’ll be some new recruits into the construction industry soon.


At the end of November, Volvo’s Duxford and Immingham Customer Support Centres held a week-long series of events to raise money for Children in Need. Activities included a bake-off competition, dress down days and a quiz.


On Thursday 17 November, the BBC Rickshaw challenge passed by Duxford head office stopping at the Imperial War Museum for day 7 of their 8 day challenge. In total Volvo raised £1,620.32 and had some fun along the way.
