PRECISE VALVE CONTROL

The new Profox-X

actuators are designed for use in explosive atmospheres

Electric actuator manufacturer AUMA has added an explosion-proof version to its successful Profox actuator series. “The new Profox-X actuators

expand all the benefits of our small and smart Profox actuator series to applications in potentially explosive atmospheres,” says AUMA product manager Christoph Edelmann. “These versatile, future-proof actuators meet all the requirements of modern power plant automation.” The product has been awarded

ATEX and IECEx certifications for the highest gas group IIC T4, which includes hydrogen, ensuring safe operation in potentially explosive atmospheres. As with the whole Profox line,

the Profox-X series includes multi- turn, part-turn and linear actuators, offering automation solutions for all valve types in the lower torque and thrust ranges. Compact design makes Profox-X a perfect fit for tight spaces. All Profox actuators are optimised

for low energy consumption and high efficiency, thus minimising their carbon footprint. High-quality “made in Germany” design and construction,

wide temperature range and premium corrosion protection ensure high reliability and long service life under tough process conditions. The smart actuators are equally

suited to ‘open-close’ duty and modulating applications. Profox actuators support fieldbus and Industrial Ethernet communication,

making host system integration flexible and easy. The actuators’ embedded data logging enables advanced diagnostics and predictive maintenance.

POLISH OFFSHORE WIND CONTRACT GE Vernova’s Grid Solutions business, run in partnership with

Polimex Mostostal, has been awarded a key contract for the Baltica 2 Offshore Wind Farm in Poland. The project involves building an onshore infrastructure comprising a

275/400 kV high voltage substation that includes Statcoms and onshore export lines for efficient power transfer to the Polish power system. The Baltica 2 Offshore Wind Farm, jointly developed by Ørsted and PGE, is set to be the largest in the Polish Baltic Sea and one of the largest globally, aiming to power nearly four million households in Poland. This initiative is a significant step in Poland’s energy transition, enhancing

national energy security and substantially reducing carbon emissions. “The Baltica 2 will deliver 1.5 GW of power to the Pomerania region, which currently receives most of its electricity from the south of Poland. This additional source of power generation will increase the energy security not only of the region, but the entire country”, said Wojciech DÄ…browski, president of the management board of PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna.
