Particle Characterisation Traceable Size Standards for Particle Counting and Sizing Instruments
Available from Distrilab Particles, Thermo Scientific NIST traceable size standards are used in the development, standardisation, validation and routine checking of most particle counting and sizing instruments regardless of brand or make. The particles are traceable to the Standard Meter through the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), enabling labs to demonstrate the traceability of their analytical methods as required by ISO, ANSI/NCSL Z540, GMP/GLP and other standards and regulations.
In addition to NIST traceability, key features include tight size distribution of the particle population for precise calibration, excellent stability to ensure repeatable results, wide range of discrete sizes (from 20 nanometer to 2000 micron) in both polystyrene and glass versions to meet specific instrument needs, and a Certificate of Calibration that provides documented evidence to show compliance to most quality control programs.
Products include 2000 Series Uniform Polymer Particles, 3000 Series Monodisperse Particles, 4000 Series Monosized Particles, 8000 Series Silica Particles, 9000 Series Borosilicate and Soda Lime Glass Particles, Chromosphere-T Certified Black or Red Dry Particles, Dri-Cal Dry Particle Size Standards, and Surf-Cal Particle Size Standards.

Particle Counting and Analysis App Offers Automatic Particle Detection and Sizing
Media Cybernetics announces the release of a new Particle Counting and Analysis App for their Image-Pro Premier software which provides automatic particle detection, particle sizing and measurement functionality for industrial image analysis researchers. Particle analysis represents an especially challenging problem for researchers analysing the size, shape and conformation of particles. Attributes such as location, size and shape must be simultaneously considered, often in cluttered fields of view. Using Image-Pro Premier’s new Particle Counting and Analysis App, researchers can now automatically count and measure particles in live or static images with one mouse
click. The Particle Counting and Analysis App guides users through selecting calibration settings, removing unwanted particles and saving their analysis data. Measurements like Area, Minimum and Maximum Diameter, Radius Ratio, and Roundness are collected from each frame. All measurements can be saved and easily exported to Excel for further analysis. At the end of each analysis session, users can automatically save a snapshot of their analysed image with measurements overlays to publish and share with others. “Image-Pro software has long been used to detect, measure and analyse particles,” stated Kathy Hrach, Product Manager. “This new Particle Counting and Analysis App makes it even easier for researchers to find particles, extract useful measurement data, and share their results.”
The Particle Counting and Analysis App is freely available for any Image-Pro Premier user to download and install from Media Cybernetics’ Solutions Zone macro and app resource site. Researchers can request a free 14-day trial of Image-Pro Premier to review and test this App with their images.

dilute the sample. Sample cells for both aqueous and non- aqueous liquids optimise the measurement process and a special surface analysis cell is available to measure the zeta potential of surfaces such as films and membranes. Flexible enough for detailed research work and using it’s SOP operating structure, simple enough for routine QC work, the DelsaNano provides reliable reproducible data quicky and easily. An optional Auto titrator allows up to 3 additives to be titrated for Ioselectric point determinations and to monitor surfactant effectiveness.
