Water / Wastewater 11 Liquid Analyser With HART Communications

Supports Large Distributed Control Systems Designed to support highly automated large industrial processes and plants, the modular S80-T80 Analyser System from Electro-Chemical Devices provides a wide range of precise liquid analytical measurements via HART communications for simple direct connection with popular distributed control systems.

ECD’s HART compatible T80 Universal Transmitter is a single-channel, loop-powered device designed for the continuous measurement of pH, ORP, pION, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, conductivity or resistivity in a general purpose industrial environment. The versatile T80 Transmitter also is available with a choice of 4 to 20 output, Modbus RTU, Ethernet (with Modbus TCP), SDI-12 serial communication and PROFIBUS PA output.

With over 30 million supported field instruments installed worldwide, HART’s digital technology offers a reliable, long-term solution for leveraging the benefits of intelligent devices such as ECD’s S80-T80

Analyser System. HART is the global standard for sending and receiving digital information across the 4-20mA analog current loops that connect the vast majority of field instruments with distributed control systems.

More than a communication protocol, HART technology allows process plants to access a wealth of digital process, maintenance and diagnostic information. This information includes the type of liquid analytical data provided by the ECD S80-T80 Analyser, which is especially valuable for process operations and equipment maintenance data.

The T80 Transmitter digitally communicates with any ECD S80 Intelligent Sensor, automatically configuring the transmitter’s menus and display screens to the sensor’s measured parameter. The same T80 Transmitter can be used for any of the measurements, i.e. plug an S80 conductivity sensor into a T80 pH Transmitter and it will automatically reconfigure into a conductivity transmitter. There is no longer any need to inventory multiple instrument types, one T80 Transmitter will automatically configure to any of the listed measurements.

The highly intelligent and versatile S80 Sensor product line is designed for precise liquid analytical measurement of multiple parameters including pH, ORP, DO, pION, turbidity, conductivity or resistivity. The type of sensor, its identity and serial number are stored in the sensor’s memory along with calibration registers.

The S80 Sensors are calibrated at the factory so they are ready to use when connected to ECD’s T80 Transmitter. The Model S80 Sensors are waterproof and submersible with all internal components epoxy encapsulated inside their 0.75-inch housing. They are available in a variety of packages designed for benign to rugged applications under high temperatures and in corrosive media.

The S80 Sensors come in immersion or insertion package configurations that are designed with a 0.75-inch MNPT compression fitting as the process connection. This design employs a variable insertion length to accommodate installation in pipe tees, flow cells or through tank walls. The retractable configuration is designed with a 1-inch MNPT ball valve, a 1-x- 0.75 inch reducer and a 0.75 inch MNPT compression fitting for the process connection.

In-Situ® Inc. announced today that their industry-

leading Android™ smartphone technology for water monitoring is now available across their water level instrument platforms. In-Situ’s ongoing focus and investment in technology is evident in this release, which combines their software expertise with their rugged and reliable instrumentation. All In-Situ customers can now enjoy a simple, streamlined, and cost-effective way to access and manage water level and quality monitoring data from a mobile device.

In-Situ is known for being a leader in software and

user experience. Launched in 2013, iSitu was the industry’s first smartphone application for environmental monitoring, and transformed the way environmental professionals collected water quality data by eliminating the need for bulky, expensive, handheld meters. Today, In-Situ takes another step forward in changing the standard for data acquisition, with a streamlined experience from the computer, to a mobile device, to the cloud.

The VuSitu Mobile App delivers what customers have come to know and expect from In-Situ solutions – accurate, repeatable, and defensible data that is easy to access and analyse. Users can quickly find and recognise water level and quality monitoring sites, and instantly view, download, and share data from the office or the field.

“We’re excited to bring our industry-leading software experiences to all of our customers, allowing them to pair our rugged and reliable water level and quality instruments with a software experience that is second-to-none in our industry. Whether you need to view live readings, set up logs via our easy, managed workflows, or configure your devices in any way, you can now use VuSitu and our Bluetooth® Wireless TROLL Com to do so,” said Ben Kimbell, vice president of research and design for In-Situ.

Offered in several languages to accommodate a global market, the VuSitu Mobile App provides auto-configuration, simplified calibration, directed data analysis, and automated report creation for all applications that In-Situ instruments serve. Site photos and GPS coordinates keep all projects in one organized, central location, and instrument firmware and software updates can be done directly through the app. A managed workflow for groundwater and low-flow sampling events is also built into the app, and can be paired with the 7-Inch Rugged Android Tablet for rapid input of sample and other barcoded information via the built-in barcode scanner. All of this is available in multiple languages for a global market.

With clear, step-by-step, in-app instructions, In-Situ expects users to spend significantly less time on instrument and software training. Rental customers can also enjoy storing data on their personal device via the mobile app, allowing easy access for future rental projects.

Both the VuSitu and iSitu mobile apps are free to download, offering users a low cost and simple way to obtain and analyze data using nearly all In-Situ instruments. Wireless telemetry systems and their cloud-based HydroVu Data Services round out In-Situ’s wireless remote monitoring platform.
