AIR MONITORING
Fully automated real-time VOC monitoring: The IONICON VOCentinel
Monitoring complex Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) no longer requires constant manual intervention. The IONICON VOCentinel is a revolutionary, fully automated solution designed for long-term, continuous environmental and industrial monitoring.
Proven Performance at the Innsbruck Atmospheric Observatory
Recently deployed at the IAO (an ACTRIS national facility), the VOCentinel is already transforming high-level air chemistry research.
“We have been dreaming of a VOC monitor that handles detector tuning, calibrations, and background subtractions automatically – just like our other online instruments. The VOCentinel is a gamechanger for this community.”, Prof. Thomas Karl, University of Innsbruck.
Why Choose VOCentinel for Your Facility?
• Zero-Effort Data: Provides real-time quantitative results with automated data preprocessing and calibration.

Fail-safe, modular and precise Air Sensors
With the HTS401, E+E Elektronik presents the next generation of humidity and temperature measurement: a modular platform for precise climate control, reduced downtime and reliable readings even in demanding ambient conditions.
Industrial processes place stringent demands on measurement technology. Extreme ambient conditions, aggressive media, chemically intensive cleaning and the need for accurate, fail-safe data are common. Conventional sensors soon reach their limits - due to condensation, corrosion, temperature extremes or labour-intensive maintenance. Developed specifi cally for these applications, the HTS401 combines a robust protection concept with high measurement accuracy, easy system integration and a maintenance concept designed to minimise process interruptions.
To keep the sensor ready for operation even under severe stress, the HTS401 combines the proprietary E+E sensor coating with the Condensation Guard, a heated sensing unit that actively counteracts dew formation on the sensing element. As soon as the ambient conditions indicate a risk of condensation, the sensor temperature is raised slightly and automatically. This prevents moisture build-up on the sensor surface and keeps the output signal stable. Complemented by the Automatic ReCovery function (ARC), the sensing element actively protects itself against harmful chemical infl uences. This reduces corrosion-related failures and measurement drift, extends service life and minimises maintenance interventions - especially in applications with high humidity and routine automated cleaning or sterilisation.
With integrated rapidX technology, the HTS401 simplifi es maintenance and calibration: the sensor module can be replaced tool-free in the fi eld in just 10 minutes, including fi lter replacement and
access preparation. On-site calibration is no longer required, as each rapidX sensor module is factory pre-calibrated and delivered with a digital 3.1 inspection certifi cate according to DIN EN 10204-3.1.
With measurement accuracy up to ±0.95 % RH and ±0.1°C and an operating range from −40°C to +80°C, the HTS401 delivers reliable values from outdoor areas to controlled environments such as cleanrooms. For additional fl exibility, the HTS401 also calculates key parameters derived from relative humidity directly in the device, such as dew point, mixing ratio or enthalpy.
The HTS401 supports digital and analogue interfaces and can be confi gured using the E+E PCS10 software. This allows quick integration into existing automation and building management systems. Wall-mount and duct versions are available, as well as remote-probe variants; an optional display can visualise multiple measured variables simultaneously.
The HTS401 is optimised for a wide range of applications, including high- end HVAC (data centres, swimming halls, outdoor applications), agriculture (greenhouses, stables, storage and ripening), pharmaceutical applications (cleanroom monitoring) and food and beverage processes such as meat and cheese maturation.
The HTS401 stands for precise, fail-safe humidity and temperature measurement with minimal maintenance effort. As the successor to the EE212 and EE210, it helps operators keep processes under stable control, use energy more effi ciently and plan service interventions more reliably.

Air Quality Monitoring
Air monitor meets Grade 1 requirements for PM2.5 ) is widely
Fine particulate matter (PM2.5
recognised as one of the most hazardous air pollutants because it can penetrate deep into the human respiratory system. As evidence of its health impacts has grown, global regulatory frameworks have introduced increasingly stringent criteria for its monitoring.
These regulations have placed a heavy emphasis on measurement precision, traceability and comparability with reference-grade instrumentation. The certifi cation schemes play a crucial role in identifying systems capable of delivering data that can support regulatory decisions, public health assessments and long- term investment strategies.
Kunak’s AIR Pro has attained Grade 1 certifi cation for PM2.5
measurement following
a rigorous independent evaluation by the KOTITI Testing and Research Institute in South Korea.
Grade 1 represents the highest performance category within the Korean particle measurement certifi cation framework. It requires demonstrable equivalence to reference instruments across key parameters, such as measurement accuracy, repeatability, data acquisition performance and statistical correlation during comparative testing.
The tests are conducted under controlled and comparative conditions, providing external validation of an instrument’s performance in scenarios set up to refl ect real-world deployment.
This certifi cation signals a broader data quality approach taken throughout the design, calibration and validation stages of Kunak’s monitoring stations. Calibration and
measurement
testing are carried out in accordance with CEN/TS 17660 and US EPA/600/R sensor performance protocols.
Data traceability is maintained against globally recognised regulatory standards, including EU Directive 2024/2881 and US EPA 40 CFR Part 53. The resulting performance aligns with Class 1 Data Quality Objectives, as defi ned in European and US regulatory frameworks for particulate matter and key gaseous pollutants.
Inaccurate air quality data can lead to ineffective mitigation strategies, regulatory non-compliance or adverse health outcomes; independent verifi cation of measurement performance remains essential.
Kunak’s KOTITI Grade 1 certifi cation gives evidence of the importance of externally validated traceable data in environmental monitoring applications.
