Grace came over to study from Singapore. She says that the university’s 85 societies are key to getting involved in the campus.
My advice for new students would be to join a couple of societies.
There’s lots to choose from and they’re a great way to get out there and meet people. There’s definitely a lot to do in London — especially if you’re into nightlife, with all the clubs, music venues and theatres. You’ve just got to get involved, there’s always something going on.
As well as the exciting cultural life, Grace values the business networking opportunities that the capital offers.
You just have to get out there and keep your eyes open. For example, right now I’m working on social media for a start-up cosmetics company. That’s great experience for me as I love the brand — so that’s very exciting.
