ORHA Youth News Why do I like reining?


What I like about reining is that it is fun. It is fun because not only do you get to ride, but you also get to meet people. My favourite things to do are to help tack and untack horses and ride and show. I also like hanging around with all of my friends. That is what I like about riding. ~ Ella Kendall


What I like about reining is


the people. At my first show all I knew was my horse and my grandparents. My grandma saw the youth doing a sale and sat me down and said, “you are a youth so help.” So I sat down and Gavin Pellerin showed me what they were doing and how I could help. Then after that my friendships skyrocketed with the youth kids. If it weren’t for that I don’t think that I would be the president of the youth club today. ~ 2021 youth president Landon Brown


My first horse show was


this month at Fletcher’s horse world, and I can honestly say, I


LOVED IT! The people were so nice, and I’ve never felt more included before, everyone was so supportive. I also loved get- ting all fancied up to compete. I came from a western pleasure background and the reining is such a different experience. It’s fast paced and an insane amount of fun. I’m looking forward to the rest of the season with my partner, “Brad Gun” also known as “Walt”.

the community. Everyone is kind and are fun to be around. Now, when it comes to show- ing, you get all serious, but also have a good time and try to get a 70+. The coolest show is the congress, it’s awesome! Watch- ing the futurity Saturday night’s is also awesome. ~ Logan Kendall
