NEW COURSES TRAINING

he future is electric – and we want to continue equipping Members with the skills and know-how to successfully work with the next generation of technology. That’s why we’re excited


to be adding to our range of training courses with two new modules in smart homes and drone surveying. Held in partnership with our friends


at West College Scotland (WCS) in Paisley, Renfrewshire, they’ll help give Members an insight into both topics and understand more about how the technology of tomorrow works. Exact details and costs are currently

As part of our mission to help Members keep pace with the latest technology, we’re currently preparing to launch new training courses in smart homes and drone surveying


being finalised, but we hope to launch both courses later in the summer in line with COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. Watch this space!


Smart homes will be the focus of one course


Smart homes course This course is designed to give learners an insight into the benefits of using smart controls for heating, lighting and power circuits in buildings. Focusing specifically on Lightwave and Salus products, it will lead learners into the Lightwave Pro Installer program.


It will also integrate voice assistants such as Alexa, Google Home and Apple Home Kit, as well as using tablets and smart phones to both program and activate the devices and routines.


Structured to maximise participant engagement, the course uses a blend of


lectures, video presentations and practical hands-on demonstrations. Learners will be able to add additional products on to existing systems, program them in and develop programmes, as well as
