The Apartment Association Outreach, Inc.
LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT By Jeff March, BRG Apartments, Outreach President
Jeff March
The Apartment Association Outreach’s 9th Annual 5k 4 Rent, chaired by Justin Seger with HILLS Properties, was a huge success thanks to the efforts of his 5K 4 Rent committee and the continued generosity of our member- ship. Our stretch goal was $45,000, and as of this writing, we have raised $47,150 and we have more than 250 participants signed up to walk or run. This is an outstanding outcome (a record), and I expect we will cross $50,000 when the event is finished. Congratulations to everyone involved and this will allow us
to assist many of our residents with much needed rental assistance!

CHAMPIONS FOR OUTREACH On June 30, Apartment Association Outreach (AAO) officially launched our Champions for Outreach program at the beautiful home of AAO Board Member Sean Blythe, where we welcomed about 50 key supporters of Outreach. I want to thank Sean and his wife Alana for their kindness, generosity and leadership in assisting us with this very important program.
Champions for Outreach has several key goals. First, we desire
to build on the success of AAO and increase our funding going for- ward. Second, we desire to provide three giving levels that include access to all three of our key fundraising events (5K 4 Rent, Night Out for Outreach and Holiday Cheers). We will continue to have a la carte sign up offerings for all events, but creating Champions for Outreach will be easier for both Primary and Associate members to support the great work of our organization in a simple, annual way. Our third goal is to provide more stable and consistent funding going forward. This will allow us to help more individuals and families in need through rental assistance, food pantry donations, senior events, educational and industry scholarships, backpacks and school supplies, emergency assistance and increased volunteerism. I am very proud of what we have accomplished together, and this will allow us to do so much more … AAO shines a bright, positive light on our local multi-family industry!
Champions for Outreach has three sponsorship levels: Platinum ($20,000), Gold ($10,000) and Silver ($5,000). Sponsors receive
36 AUGUST 2021 8 VOLUNTEERISM With the pandemic easing, a number of our members were able

Finally, as you can tell, AAO is extremely busy, and our efforts are helping thousands in our community. We recently engaged a pub- lic relations firm, Strategic Advisors, who has been able to highlight many of our recent accomplishments to the media and the public. A big thank you to Patrick Crowley for his efforts to educate the com- munity on our good work.
