Network (ICON) is a unique partnership between Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and the foundry industry. ICI, the nation’s investment casting trade association, is the perfect strategic partner to help the DLA engage with more investment foundries, ultimately to the benefit of this country’s warfighters and the foundries that support them. We look forward to working with ICI and its membership to build resiliency in our nation’s investment casting supply chain.” ICI Executive Director Joseph Fritz said, “The ICI is very pleased to team with NFFS in its deployment of ICON, and is appreciative to have this opportunity to serve our country while simultaneously offering ICI members a valuable benefit.”
About ICON The ICON program is managed by the Non-Ferrous Founders’ Society (NFFS) as part of the American Metalcasting Consortium and its Innovative Casting Technology program. The mission of the ICON program is to assist DLA with the re-establishment of capable supply chains for defense and military related metal castings. ICON has made significant contributions to reducing the backlog of open casting orders for DLA, as well as reducing the administrative and production lead times (PLT/ ALT) associated with acquiring replacement metal castings. ICON provides users with daily email notification of new sales opportunities, a detailed integrated procurement history, contract management capabilities, opportunities for inventory and catalog sales direct to government buyers, and a completely customizable user experience - all designed specifically for foundries.
Since October 2018, ICON users have received casting sales opportunities worth more than $1.4 billion dollars and have been awarded more than $800 million dollars in actual contracts.
