Doug Neece Announces Retirement “Shortly after joining our
industry, one of the first people that I had the pleasure to meet was Doug Neece. That was over 30 years ago. I found Doug to be welcoming and friendly, though I really did not get to know Doug until undertaking my current role. From day one in, Doug proved to be one of my most supportive advisors in his official capacity as an ICI Director as well as in a personal capacity as my friend. I am proud and honored to be able to call Doug my ‘friend.’” – Joseph E. Fritz,
Executive Director, ICI
“Just heard that Doug Neece has decided to retire and I want to wish him and his family all the best. Doug is known throughout the industry for his friendly, easy going demeanor and professionalism. I had the privilege of working
with Doug when he was at Howmet Tempcraft, at Cleveland Tool and Machine and on the ICI Board of Directors. Congratulations Doug! Thanks
for all your many contributions and friendship.”

After nearly a half century, Doug Neece of Cleveland Tool and machine an- nounces retirement. Effective date is June 30, 2021. Doug started his career at Tempcraft Tool and Mold, which underwent several buyouts and name changes and is currently Howmet Aerospace. He has been an active member of the ICI and served on its Board of Directors for eight years. In 2002 he joined Cleveland Tool and Machine and became a part owner. He along with business partner Victor Bota decided to expand the machinery business to include serving the Investment Casting business. Cleveland Tool designed and built Wax injection and Ceramic Injection machinery, which are now in more than 16 countries. “It has been a great journey and the best things that I can say about this industry
is that it has some of the greatest people”. The comradery is international in scope and I am grateful to the many friends I have made as a result of being in this close knit industry.”
“I regret that I have only known Doug personally for about 10 years but I
have known of him far longer extending back to my days at Howmet while he was at Tempcraft. I have always found Doug to be very knowledgeable and an excellent source of information extending beyond just equipment. He could be relied upon on for assistance if you needed it and you could count on him to go beyond the norm to help out. In the midst of this he was always a nice guy that made you feel comfortable and you came away from every conversation assured that he was truly interested in what you had to say. I wish Doug the absolute best and he will certainly be missed.” – Bob Johnson, President, Shellcast, Inc.
“Doug has contributed greatly to the global investment casting industry. He
was always willing to lend his experience and expertise to solve industry issues. As an innovator, Doug filled a critical gap in the industry by offering equipment with advanced controls and reliability while providing excellent service. As a technologist, Doug freely shared his ideas to help companies optimize their processes. As a person, he was actively involved and had great positive influ- ence in the lives of his family as well as his colleagues in the investment casting industry. He contributed greatly to the Investment Casting Institute Board of Directors as well as the many Committees he was involved in. We wish Doug a happy and well deserved retirement and thank him for his contributions to the industry. His legacy will last a very long time.”
