L ANYON BOWDLER COUNTY PROPERTY MARKET THRIVING
56
The popular TV show, Love It or List It, is being lived out by people in Herefordshire as the property market shows no signs of slowing down, according to a Hereford-based legal expert.
Tim Treherne, a residential conveyancer at Lanyon Bowdler, says his team has never been busier with transactions, as demand for property outstrips what is available on the market.
“The stamp duty holiday has certainly helped speed things up, and the property market here in Herefordshire is as busy as ever,” he said.
“We are also noticing many people are actually deciding to stay put and enhance their existing property because the competition is so fierce for those properties currently available.
“It’s very much a case of love it or list it - just like the TV programme - with a lot of people choosing to improve their own home rather than moving.
“I think it’s one of the knock-on effects of the COVID pandemic, with people spending more time at home, not spending money on holidays or socialising, so they are investing their money into their property instead.
“Just from walking around Hereford you can see the amount of domestic building work taking place - and we are seeing first-hand from our clients how busy the property market is.
“For those who do decide to move, it’s important to get in touch with a conveyancing solicitor as soon as possible because the demand is so high right now.”
