MARTIN & CO ROLL ON, ROLL OFF

The Italian jewellery that’s easy to wear but very hard to ignore

10

Nearly a century ago, Italian jeweller Umberto Cazzola opened his first goldsmith’s workshop, creating a dynasty of Cazzola jewellers that still thrives today. Known for his innovative work, he passed on those pioneering genes to his son Odino who came up with his own revolutionary products – not least the flexible metal strap – soon after the Second World War.

Fast forward to the 1980s and the company, now known as FOPE with a third generation of Cazzolas in charge, invented the Novecento chain mesh; creating the brand’s “signature style”. It was this breakthrough that allowed it to develop its Flex’it lines in the early 2000s; stretchable rings and bracelets, made only from 18 carat gold.

GOODBYE TO FIDDLY CLASPS There is a secret to the Flex’it range which lies in the tiny gold springs hidden between each link, enabling wearers to easily slip bracelets on and off. Goodbye to fiddly clasps and hello to a more flexible way to wear jewellery. The design also applies to rings, making it easy to wear rings on different fingers while ensuring a comfortable fit.

Sophisticated Italian elegance that’s easy to wear but hard to ignore, who can resist?

CHOOSE YOUR FAVOURITE The even better news is that since coming up with the Flex’it range, FOPE has developed several collections, each one of which reflects beauty and charm with a unique contemporary twist. Ranging from the Eka featuring the classic gold mesh design; through to Prima – including earrings and necklaces;

Solo, offering slightly smaller proportions; Panorama with its wider yet finer chain; Vendôme with an oval chain; and, the exquisite MiaLuce collection with its distinctive design and high quality craftmanship.

For 2021, a highlight is the new Essentials collection; a range of 18ct gold rings and earrings that can be worn alone or stacked together, with three sizes of classic hoop earrings and new sleek Flex’it mesh earrings in gold and with diamonds.

Can’t decide which you prefer? Then mix and match your FOPE Flex’it collection to suit your style and mood, confident that FOPE jewellery is an everyday luxury that can be worn without stretching or going out of shape.
