While the COVID-19 pandemic was tough for many businesses to work around, the fence industry boomed this past year.


Of the many local fence companies, Precision Fencing Services was voted as best in the city.


“For us, we had work every day,” said owner Cyle Dyck. “The pandemic really brought a big spike in business, and we were thankful to have work every morning.”


Precision Fencing is in its sixth year in the city and is bringing home its first Best of Medicine Hat award in this category.


“It’s pretty exciting,” said Dyck. “I used to work for a company that won it all of the time, so it’s quite exciting to finally win one as our own company.


“We’re good friends with most of the companies around the city, so this is a really fun bit of competition for us.”


Dyck says caring for every customer is key for his business.


“Customer service is always number one for us,” he said. “Obviously the quality of our work is great, but we really put an emphasis on customer care.”


Dyck says the company is expecting another busy summer.


“Last year was overwhelming at times,” he said. “With people unable to travel, they are investing in their properties.


“It’s really great for our industry, and we’re thankful for all of the support we’ve been getting.”
