LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT By Jeff March, BRG Apartments, Outreach President

Jeff March

I am looking forward to 2021, to rais- ing a lot of money to help those in need in our community, and to spring when we an- ticipate better weather and to being together (hopefully) for our first fundraising event … Apartment Association Outreach 5K 4 Rent. I want to thank Joe Mischell and Cincinnati Coin Laundry for their continued generous support of Outreach as the 5K 4 Rent Pre- senting Sponsor. Justin Seger with Hills Properties (our newest AAO Board member) has agreed to

chair this outdoor event which is scheduled to take place in downtown Cincinnati at Friendship Park on Saturday, April 10, 2021, beginning at 9:00 am. We are proceeding full speed ahead, and while we will have to await final approval from the Health Department, we expect to finally get together socially distanced, and enjoy a pleasurable morning of exercise all to help AAO and our partners! We have budgeted to raise $37,000 so we need your financial

support. You will find sponsorship opportunities listed in this newsletter, and they are: Gold Sponsor for $1,000, Silver Sponsor for $500, and Bronze Sponsor for $350. In addition, you can go to www.5k4Rent.org where you can sponsor or register to participate. We strongly encourage our member companies to pay for registra-

tion for team members to participate as this is a fun event, a great team building activity and a terrific way to provide rental assistance to those who are hurting during this pandemic. Despite the ongoing challenges of COVID-19, Outreach con-

tinues to be proactive with all of its programs. The Board recently approved 4 Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) scholarships, and these deserving recipients will begin their education on February 10. In addition, we are diligently working on creative avenues to assist senior communities who have been hard hit during this crisis, and Susan Peck and Patty Braun are working to execute our $30,000 grant in support of our food pantry partners … a generous donation provided by the L & L Nippert Charitable Foundation. We know that members of our community continue to require

financial assistance for rent and utilities. As there are constantly new programs and new funding sources available, please remember to use the GCNKAA website as a wonderful resource to keep informed as to where you may seek help for your residents. Go to www.gcnkaa. org and click under the “Resources” tab, and then review items under the “Coronavirus Guidelines” to learn more.

I look forward to spring 2021, and for the chance for us all to come together to help Outreach grow and assist more children and families. I also welcome the opportunity to be back together with our incredible membership who has been so supportive and assisted so many citizens in need during this entire pandemic. Thank you!
