fter introducing a range of
comprehensive COVID-19 safety measures, we are delighted to be restarting partial
training sessions at our headquarters outside Edinburgh. Staggered start times, reduced class sizes, clear signage and a range of hygiene measures are all now in place as The Walled Garden prepares to receive delegates once again. The new measures will enable us
to safely deliver the practical part of our SQA Customised Award in Initial Verification to BS 7671 Course (18th Edition). Also known as our 209 course,

this is broken into three parts, all of which candidates must successfully complete before we can apply for their certificate from SQA.
1. Introduction to BS 7671 (online) The online session provides a basic introduction to BS 7671 to ensure delegates can successfully navigate and find key information from the latest version of the IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671:2018. The session takes a few hours to complete and can be completed in stages. To complete the online course, candidates will need access to: ●Requirements for Electrical Installations (18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations) BS 7671:2018 (blue book)
2. Initial Verification of Electrical Installations to BS 7671:2018 (online)
The second and third parts of the 209 course are spread across two days, with the first day an online session dealing with the following principles: ●Inspection of new installations ●Testing of new installations including continuity of conductors, insulation resistance, polarity, earth electrode resistance, earth fault loop impedance, prospective fault current and RCDs test ●Virtual demonstration of inspection and testing procedures and interpretation of results ●Virtual demonstration of results obtained to complete a schedule
