Churches ‘need your help after lockdown’

A VILLAGE vicar has confessed to parishioners his two churches are financially “vulnerable”. Rev Mark Pavey, who arrived in post a year ago, said Coron- avirus has had a financial impact on

churches.

And while people of faith have been rallying to help those in need, it is now the turn of the providers to get a helping hand. Rev Pavey, pictured with his wife Tansye, said: “I hope you know that the church is always here for you. It’s with this in mind that I want to be vulnerable to you and to say we need your help. “This period of uncertainty and church closures clearly has an im- pact on the running of our two beautiful churches at Leeds and Broomfield. There are two lovely places of worship within the com- munity and we are hugely grate- ful for them.”
