temperature screening a more positive, calm, and familiar experience. Patrons only have to stand in front of it momen- tarily to have their temperature taken. It's more welcoming and doesn't require additional staff to operate it.” The TAURI Temperature Check Tablet was built lever- aging the same expertise and technology the company uses in its successful self-service tablet-based NEBULA Total Kiosks Series. TAURI ensures customers, employees, and guests who need access into a facility can be swiftly and safely scanned. It features a professional, high-quality in- frared sensor that immediately detects and issues a customiz- able alert when a person is run- ning a high temperature, and therefore should not enter the premises. To ensure a positive, anxi- ety-free experience, the sys- tem's result message can be customized. For example, if a high temperature is detected, the tablet can display a mes- sage such as, “Please step

aside for a customer service agent to assist you.” The tab- lets are also equipped with an HDMI output, allowing results to be mirrored on a second screen, such as one located behind a reception or secu- rity desk. Both features keep health data private and secure. TAURI is available in 7-inch, 10.5-inch, 15.6-inch, and 21.5-inch models and can be deployed anywhere using Glo- ry Star's VESA standard wall mounts,

desktop mounts, or

floor stands, which are also available as options. Each tab- let is embedded with the TAU- RI Application, which imme- diately launches upon start-up and doesn't require operators to sift through menus or addi- tional applications. Initial set- up and calibration take only seven minutes using the clear and simple interactive user in- terface. TAURI combines a best-in- class sensor and body heat algorithm for fast temperature accuracy with a tolerance of +/-

tactless temperature screening BrightSign has announced that EonDigital has incorporated the BrightSign HD1024 media player in its new temperature screening solution, ExoMetrics Wrist. This innovative new solu- tion quickly achieves highly accurate temperature measure- ments by taking hundreds of temperature readings in just a matter of seconds. This hands- free solution all but eliminates false

positive readings and

enables businesses to safely screen patrons with minimal disruption. “EonDigital’s unique ap- proach to touch-free tempera- ture screening is precisely the sort of forward thinking we

need to squarely address the challenges associated with safe business operation during this pandemic,” said BrightSign CEO Jeff Hastings. “It’s grat- ifying to see the many ways companies like EonDigital are adapting BrightSign’s technol- ogy to bring their innovative solutions to market.” Temperature checks have be- come an essential part of busi- nesses re-opening in the wake of COVID-19. Common tem- perature-screening methods ei- ther rely on hand-held devices that pose a viral transmission risk, or hands-free solutions that work effectively only when used properly by the patron or

customer. ExoMetrics Wrist overcomes these challenges with its unique design and en- gineering.

While most temperature screening devices use the fore- head as the point of measure- ment, EonDigital’s new device focuses on the wrist, an area of the body that is less likely to produce an artificially high reading due to physical exer- tion

or environmental condi-

tions. Not only does the wrist yield a more accurate reading, ExoMetrics Wrist actually takes approximately 300 readings in just a few seconds, yielding a temperature measurement accurate within .5 degrees Celsius. ExoMetrics Wrist also takes advantage of a powerful algorithm that processes recent readings to identify environ- mental trends, further reducing the likelihood of false positive readings. “We conducted extensive research to isolate the most common shortcomings of con- ventional temperature screen- ing devices, and we designed ExoMetrics Wrist to specifical- ly address those challenges,” said EonDigital co-founder Chris Dotson. “Not only does measuring one’s wrist enable us to render a more accurate temperature reading, but there are also ergonomic advantages to our design that make the device suitable for a broader population.”

ExoMetrics Wrist sits at a com- fortable height that is suitable for use by children and adults alike. Similarly, the device is within easy reach of people who may be seated in a wheelchair or other assisted mobility device.

Vivitek’s new DU4371Z-ST laser short throw projector

Vivitek has introduced the DU4371Z-ST short throw laser projector. With a screen size of up to 278 inches and a bright- ness of 5,100 lumens with WUXGA resolution,

this new

device is suitable for almost all demanding applications and environments – from con- ference rooms, to universities, galleries and museums. Vivitek's DU4371Z-ST laser projector is said to be easy to

throw lens, the projector only needs a distance of two metres from the wall to achieve an impressive image size of 185 inches. At a distance of three metres, it can still deliver a razor-sharp projection with a diagonal image of 278 inches. In addition to the brightness of 5,100 lumens, the integrated DLP DarkChip3 and Brilliant- Color technologies ensure a brilliant picture. Combined,

the WUXGA laser projector has a 3D synchronisation port for compatibility with the passive 3D synchronization protocol for IR. The advanced laser phos- phor light source also always ensures optimal brightness and

a refresh rate of 64Hz. Based on a vast amount of biological and environmental factors that can impact temperature data, the system's self-calibration feature automatically attunes to the environment of the room. Guests are scanned in three seconds and from up to three feet away, providing an efficient process.

The tablet also includes face detection and optional face recognition. Face detection dif- ferentiates a human face from other objects. Companies also can activate facial recognition capabilities, which detect if a person is not protected with a face mask and issue a remind- er. It can also take a picture of the people with a high tempera- ture reading and send an email notification to select personnel. The open-based API is also designed for greater system integration. The data collect- ed from TAURI devices can be sent to a designated server. In addition, the device can be connected to control door ac- cess via USB relay.

NEC launches laser projectors on the quiet NEC Display Solutions Europe

announced that the PA804UL and PA1004UL next-genera- tion laser projectors are now available Pre-announced at ISE in February, the news means that meeting rooms, class- rooms, lecture halls and muse- ums in Europe can now expe- rience the benefits of a silent projector that displays striking imagery.

Unique to NEC, the filter-free LCD technology means there is no need to change filters or replace bulbs. Already estab- lished as a world-class pro- jector solution due to its low total cost of ownership and low-maintenance design, the PA Series can run up to 20,000 hours without requiring any outside service.

In addition to this reliabil-

ity, the PA804UL and the PA1004UL are said to bring extraordinary picture quality

with “resplendent” long-term LCD colour performance. Their high brightness, WUXGA reso- lution and vivid colour satura- tion mean they display content clearly even in bright spaces. The carefully calibrated white ranges make colours stand out while the whites look stunning. Like all NEC products, the new projectors excel in the technical details. Their sealed light engines protect them from dust or external contaminants for enduring picture perfor- mance,

as nothing accumu-

lates on the LCD panels. The engine itself runs so quietly that it’s claimed to be easy to forget that it’s on. Crucially for existing PA projector custom- ers, the transition to the new line of products is made easier by their compatibility with me- chanical PA lenses.

“This addition to the line of laser projectors is the confer- ence solution people have been looking for,” said Gerd Kaiser, Senior Project Manager at NEC Display Solutions Europe. “If you’re giving a high-stakes pre- sentation, you want the focus to be on your subject matter. Your projector should be a com- munication tool, not a talking point. With perfect quality picture and quiet running, our new projectors make sure your message lands without distrac- tion.”
