is closed till the End of May. They have made many im- provements with lots of new corrals and a round pen. The Ontario Trails
Council has a link that has a list of all the trails that are closed that have been re- ported to them. Their Web- site is down until further notice. They do have a facebook page. The winner of the

bit.ly/CRHRARiderSignUp We encourage every-
one to subscribe to the Rider as that is one of the ways we communicate with our members. You can do so when you join CRHRA there is a spot on the appli- cation for you to join. Be very sure what you
are purchasing on the appli- cation especially when it concerns the Insurance sec- tion. It can take many months to remove anything if you change your mind. Once we submit it to the BFL it is difficult to get the
transaction Reversed. We are not insurance people, it is just a benefit opportunity we offer to our members. It is a complicated process to reverse a credit card transac- tion as well. This can take months as well. You do not have to re-
submit your Date of Birth if you are a renewing member. Please fill out an ap-
plication form even if you are renewing. It has to be processed for the insurance people and into our system for payment processing. Just sending a cheque is not sufficient. Also you need to sub-
mit an individual applica- tion form for all persons that are joining or renewing. Please fill in the payment section for each application submitted. If you are a new or re-
newing member and need proof of insurance before you receive your white tags, the order number which you receive after you submit your birth date can be printed off and shown to whomever needs
it.You are covered from the time you submit that. We do not offer family or group member- ships.
For new members
BFL does not issue paper policies when you join but does provide a contact per- son for you to call if you have questions or issues. On the back of your mem- bership tags is your policy number or you can use the order number. Have that ready when you call. 1-800- 668-5901 Stephanie Kirton. We urge you to call
BFL as they can answer your insurance questions as we are NOT Insurance Peo- ple we ONLY provide op- portunity for insurance as a benefit. A BFL representative
will be at our booth as well to answer your questions. Our OFFICE keeps

next day or Monday before someone returns your call. We do not send out re-
minders that your member- ship has expired in order to keep costs down! Check your tags and you will know when you expire. Our mem- berships run from Jan 1 to Dec 31 each year. It does not matter when you apply it will expire Dec 31.
Please consider donat-
ing to Small Animal Shel- ters along with Large Animal Rescue Centres. Consider adopting an x race horse , Standardbred or re- tired schooling horses they can be retrained for your riding pleasure. If this is
your first horse please con- sider carefully what type of riding you wish to do and what your skill level is. Also consider the time and expense involved. Ask lots of questions and ask to see the horse ridden and you ride the horse. Ask for health records and have a vet check done prior to pur- chase. As for a 30 day money back guarantee as horses can behave differ- ently when relocated. If you have doubts,
seek a professional opin- ion!!!!!! There could be a lot of
horses for sale the longer this terrible crisis goes on. The Ramifications long
term could be heartbreaking so please try and work out ways to keep your horses and pets. There will be an end
to this!!!!!! Covid 19 is proving to
be a Monster !!!! It seems according to all the health officials that this Monster will be with us for a lot longer than anticipated with possibly many recurrences. Staying home and
staying at least 6 meters apart washing our hands and cleaning all surfaces repeat- edly is the best defence. It is hard when your
horse is boarded or standing in your field and there are
no shows, no where to trail ride or competitions. With so many laid off it may be hard to make the board or hay payment. Have a con- versation with the barn man- ager, owner or feed supplier about ways to work off the board or a payment plan. Smaller amounts each week instead of a large monthly payment. Perhaps even out- side board which can usu- ally be cheaper. Winter is supposed to be over so a rain sheet, fly sheet or a light weight blanket would work as protection against the elements. I am trying to get a
handle on what effect this will have on hay prices and
availability but my sources tell me it is still too early to tell. Hope to have more info for next month. Let’s all stay Healthy
and do all we can to stop the spread of this Horrible out- break!!!! Be Smart!!! Be Safe!!! Bonnie
