weekends and never touched a fence. Kandleford was really good too, he jumped some lovely rounds. We are jumping bigger classes on him now and I had been hoping to be going to a young riders competition in Belgium on our return but that will wait.


Union Jack must like the Spanish air, he went well in Spain last March and did the same this year. He finished up jumping the 1.35 classes so he is back to where I want him ready for whatever this summer brings. Corloti has lots of jump but is strong willed, but she jumped well and finished up jumping the 1.35 classes too.


On the second weekend things were going well, on the


Friday when a few rumours began to circulate about Spain going into lockdown phase. Mum quickly made plans to change our stable booking for the way home in case it happened, which it did just one hour later. The show announced that the following day would be the last day and we would need to make plans to leave. On the Saturday, our final day, all the horses jumped


well. Don Diego jumped double clear in the Grand Prix and finished 7th. He was on great form; I was so disappointed to be leaving a week early.


We hacked the horses out on Sunday so they would be relaxed for the journey home, packed up the lorry and left
