DIVING EQUIPMENT & UNDERWATER SERVICES N-Sea MENA Dive Campaign Breaks 200
Day Threshold IRM subsea services expert, N-Sea, has consolidated its position as one of the industry’s leading providers of commercial diving, by announcing the completion of over 200 continuous days air and saturation diving in the Red Sea.
Awarded by a supermajor operating in the MENA region, the multi-level, twin bell operations commenced in July 2019, with N-Sea personnel fully operational since that time.
Deployed via dive support vessel the Lichtenstein, the on-going workscope comprises the decommissioning and installation of spool pieces and risers, free span rectification and smart flange repairs. Handled by N-Sea’s Dubai base, this is the first saturation diving project the company has undertaken in MENA, following a period of significant development in the Middle East.
Asa Gamble, Managing Director of Operations in the area commented: “The scale of this campaign reflects N-Sea’s assertive growth strategy in the region, which led to over $20million in contract wins during 2019 and continues to yield positive results in 2020.
Air Pressure Alarm From Link Instruments
Improves Commercial Diving Safety Designed to meet international safety guidelines for the supply of breathing air, a new air pressure alarm has been developed by Link Instruments for commercial diving and confined space operations.
code of practice for offshore diving.
The unit can monitor air supplies for up to three divers, and is normally used for monitoring the pressure of the outgoing supply. However, by changing the pressure transducers the same unit can be used for both high and low pressure monitoring.
It can be built into new systems or retrofitted into existing ones to provide an audio-visual warning. This gives the supervisor/operator the additional safety benefits of making existing diving panels conform to the IMCA international

On start up an automatic self check tests for faults such as poor connections, and if a fault is detected the orange light illuminates. If the system is working and pressure is normal the green light will illuminate. A drop in air pressure below the set trigger point turns on the red light and the loud audible alarm will sound (this can be muted).
“The unit is easy to operate with its large chunky switches and warning lights which are appreciated in the commercial diving sector,” said Link Instruments’ Dominique Christie.
Housed in a rugged aluminium enclosure, the unit is powered by an external 12V supply from a battery or the supplied mains adaptor.
