MIGHTY HOOPLA ANNOUNCES CHERYL, EVE, BECKY HILL, BIG FREEDIA, ALPHABEAT AND MORE FOR ITS SECOND WAVE OF 2020 ACTS

The new acts join Anastacia, Natasha Bedingfield, Jimmy Somerville, Atomic Kitten, Gabrielle and Whigfield for the pop event of the century, with loads more still to be announced

London’s ultimate pop extravaganza is delighted to announce more huge acts for its star-studded 5th edition. Amongst the artists on Mighty Hoopla’s second wave announcement are Geordie pop-sensation Cheryl, Grammy-award- winning rapper Eve, chart-topping star Becky Hill and New Orleans bounce icon Big Freedia. They join some of pop’s biggest names – from the nostalgic to the new – for a festival like no other.

The festival season’s most vibrant and inclusive event will this year be closed by one of the millennium's most iconic pop stars. Having risen to fame in one of biggest girl groups of the 21st century, Cheryl has since gone on to release five number-one singles in the UK – the first British female solo artist to achieve this feat. Revellers at Mighty Hoopla can expect to hear smash hits ‘Fight for This Love’, ‘Call My Name’ and ‘Crazy Stupid Love’ in a pop-tastic set that’s sure to blow their military hats off.

Multi-talented rapper and famous paw- print tattoo owner Eve will also take to the main stage for the extravaganza.

With chart successes including ‘Let Me Blow Ya Mind’, ‘Who's That Girl’ and ‘Gangsta Lovin', as well as collaborations with Missy Elliot, Gwen Stefani and Kelly Rowland, Hoopla will be the raptress’s first UK performance for seven years!

Further additions to the line-up include Becky Hill - who became the first, and only, The Voice UK contestant to score a UK number 1 with her song, ‘Gecko (Overdrive)’ – Danish Euro-poppers Alphabeat, Kesha, Drake and Beyonce collaborator Big Freedia; whose work popularising the ‘bounce’ genre saw her named ‘Best Hip-Hop Artist’ in 2011’s Best of the Beat Awards, alongside pop-cannons Old Dirty Brasstards and electronic-pop collective Elm.

The new wave of acts joins the incredible Anastacia, Natasha Bedingfield, Atomic Kitten, Jimmy Sommerville, Gabrielle, Allie X, Sink The Pink, Guilty Pleasures, The Grand and many more. With lots more acts to be announced – and two brand new stages – Mighty Hoopla 2020 promises to be the biggest and best yet.

Subject to license, Mighty Hoopla will take place in Brockwell Park on 6th June 2020. Tickets are on sale now from £50 plus booking fee at: www.mightyhoopla.com
