Some moments transcend a season, some even transcend a career.
On Feb. 9, 2018, former Medicine Hat Tigers defenceman David Quenneville woke up knowing one of those moments was within his grasp, all he had to do was earn it.
After collecting a goal and an assist in a blowout win over Edmonton two days earlier, Quenneville sat just one point behind Kris Russell’s all-time defensive scoring record of 196 entering a divisional battle against the Calgary Hitmen.
