PLATING CHEMICALS & CONSUMABLES Electrolytic Cleaning Salts

Add white powder pack to the required amount of distilled water, stir well to dissolve. Add black powder pack, stir well and heat to the recommended temperature.

Operation: Suspend articles on copper, brass or stainless steel jigs or racks. To prepare: Work should be electro brightened in Cousins Electro Brightening Salts (C19822) prior to Electro-polishing.

Electrolytic Cleaning Salts - For Plating Machines

Electrolytic cleaning salts has been designed as a hot soak/electrolytic cleaner for ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Designed to soften and loosen polishing compounds, to remove a wide variety of contaminants, including Lanolin based lubricants and to provide a good start to the cleaning cycle.

• Plating Machine 1st Bath • To be used in the first bath of your plating machine • The formulation contains fully biodegradable wetting agents

• Will make up to 5 litres • Use as and when required

• Dilute with De-Mineralised water (C4359) Code

Description C4907 Electrolytic Cleaning Salts Price breaks available, see website Electrolytic Polishing Salts

Electro-Polishing Salts To be used in conjunction with firestripping salts (C9185) to achieve chemical polishing on gold as a replacement to hand polishing particularly in areas where physical polishing is impossible, eg filigree work, inside stone settings and in hallmarks.

• Use in micro stripping equipment (Bath 3)

• For 5 Litres, dilute with de-mineralised water (C4359) • Brilliant finishes on 9, 18, 22ct gold • Ideal for deep recesses and with poor surface conditions

• Specially suitable for high quantity productions • Gives exceptional reflectivity in difficult areas to hand polish

ELECTRO POLISHING PROCESS

Electro polishing is used to produce brilliant finishing on 9 to 22ct carat gold, in deep recesses and with poor surface conditions (will not remove scratches).

Ideal to achieve high quality finishing (with exceptional reflectivity) in difficult areas to hand polish.

Function – used in conjunction with Electro Brightening Salts (C19822) to achieve chemical polishing on gold as a replacement to hand polishing, particularly in areas where physical polishing is impossible, i.e. Filigree work, inside stone setting and hallmarks. • Container – Polypropylene or glass • Anodes - stainless steel connect to negative out-put of D.C supply

• Temperature – 60-65 °C • D C voltage – 18-22 volts • D.C Amps 4-22 volts per cm ² (25-50 amps per inch ²) • Time 5-20 seconds • Heater stainless steel or indirect (water jacket) Note: Heating must be thermostatic; solution deteriorates quickly over 65 °C • Agitation- gentle horizontal movements • Makes up five litre packs as salt.

Gold Plating - Gilding Salts - 1 litre

• It is necessary to use De-Mineralised Water (C4359) • The manufacturer states that for larger quantities of solution (e.g. for 2 litres) 2 x 1 litre pots should be mixed together etc.

• It is necessary to use the whole pot when making up a solution to ensure the compounds remain evenly applied (or 2 whole pots when making a larger solution etc.)

• 1.2g of gold per litre except (HP) which has 5g

Available: • 9ct • 18ct • 22ct • 24ct • Rose (Red)

A chemical to clean flux and removing oxides from metal after soldering. One of the most popular finishing chemicals in an array of industries. Can be also used to clean finished jewellery and components. Perfect for using with various metals such as gold, silver, copper, brass, platinum and palladium.

• In salt form which makes it easy to store and handle • Use 50grams to 1 litre of de-mineralised water (C4359) heated between 30-80 °c

• Never use normal steel tweezers in the solution to retrieve
