Wet sanding is a process that’s often used on wood for example clock cases & furniture to give a mirror- smooth look. Wet sanding is typically done after dry sanding to get an even finish. Unlike dry sanding, wet sanding is done not to shape a surface, but to remove the large scratches left by dry sanding.


Wet/dry sandpaper works better and lasts longer when used with a lubricant such as soapy water or mineral spirits. When using wet/dry sandpaper to sand wood, use a light touch so as not to clog the paper with wood dust too quickly

Wire Steel Wool - Assorted Grades


Used to clean and prepare surfaces, remove lacquer, paint, varnish and rust; for texturing and shining on metal and wood.


Assorted Steel Wool helps achieve the all round perfect finish


• 1 x Coarse, for stripping rough and built up surfaces • 1 x Medium for removing surface imperfections on antique furniture and cleaning copper, brass, lead, pewter, bronze, iron, steel and aluminium

Sanding tip: • Graduate through the grades to achieve a perfect finish.


Special precautions: if the user is sanding or polishing a piece that is suspected to be pre-1960s wear clothing to protect against lead contamination, etc.
