BOXMASTERS FAN Dear Buffalo, I’m a little late I know, but just wanted

to thank you for your recent cover story on The Boxmasters. I am a fan. A few years ago I went to see them

play, pretty much on a whim. I was a big fan of Billy Bob Thornton’s movies, and thought it would at least be cool to see him in person and maybe even get an autograph. I was not expecting much from his band at all. I knew nothing of them, and sadly, I have seen a few actors who ventured into music that just plain sucked. Well, that was by no means the case with the Boxmasters. (I also like the mu- sical side of Johnny Depp, who is excellent in the Hollywood Vampires) The Boxmasters staged a seriously

rocking show that won me over by the third song. Their originals are all great, and I love the various cover tunes as well. The first time I saw them (there have been four more shows since then) they played “Sylvia’s Mother” by Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show, kicking it up into high gear. The next week- end I ordered all of their CDs available on Amazon. All good. I didn’t meet Billy Bob at that first

show, but have since done two “meet and greet” sessions, got my picture made with the band and got my autographs. Besides Billy, the band has other super talented and very friendly members, including J.D. and Teddy.I saw them again this past summer, and look forward to seeing them again. Meanwhile, allow me to highly recommend Billy’s TV series, Goliath on Amazon. It’s one of the best shows on TV. Thanks again for the excellent Boxmasters cover story.

Wayne: Thanks for writing. We are so happy you enjoyed the Boxmasters piece, and thank you for supporting the band. They are truly nice guys with loads of talent. And yes, I agree, Goliath is great. Happy to hear they are filming one more season. Rock on. - MBS

HALL OF FAME Michael, I was very excited to see your list of in-

ductees into the Southern Rock Hall of Fame. All of them are very deserving. Have you had any luck in your quest to open a Southern Rock Museum? I would support it for sure!

Sincerely, Malcom McFalls, Tampa, FL

Malcom. We are not giving up. We are al- ways asking around and researching possi- ble locations and buildings. The truth is, it will take quite a lot of money, and most in- vestors don’t see it as sustainable. Still, we are determined to see it happen! Thank you for your interest. - MBS

RAGIN CAJUN Buffalo, Thank you for your book review of

Ragin’ Cajun. I remember seeing Doug Ker- shaw on TV all the time as a kid, and after reading your review, I bought his book. I have to say, you were right, It was one of the most enjoyable reads I have had in quite a while. It was truly hard to put down. Thanks again.
