10. The Allman Brothers Band: Fillmore West ’71. Recorded two months prior to At Fill- more East, we hear many of the same songs, but in a rawer, as of yet unpolished state. There are some major treats herein, especially for us Duane Allman fans. Four shows, including a sweet 45- minute “Mountain Jam.”

11. The Silver Travis Band – Traveler. The Spartanburg, SC based Silver Travis band is red hot. With a sound reminiscent of the original Marshall Tucker band filtered through an E Street Band vibe, the guys sound absolutely great.

12. Billy Crain - Color Blind. Former Outlaws and Henry Paul Band guitarist Billy Crain consis- tently releases great music from his home studio and his latest is one of his finest yet. “T. Petty” is a great tribute to Tom Petty, and Billy performs

both Christian and secular songs with equal dex- terity.

13. The Mike Duke Project - Took a While. The former Wet Willie band member and re- spected musician Mike Duke presents his first ever solo work and it is truly great. Check it out!

14. The Carter Family - Across Generations. Studio magic from John Carter Cash brings gen- erations of his Mom’s family together, including those no longer with us. A real treat. An Ameri- cana instant classic.

15. New Riders of the Purple Sage - Thanksgiving in New York City. A great recording from 1972 of the great cosmic country band

live. •
