IN THE SPOTLIGHT: RECRUITMENT & HR

A BIG YEAR FOR NEW MEMBER

A new member of Milton Keynes Chamber has had a busy few months – unveiling its new website and appearing at the world’s largest defence show. Recruitment experts MPI

went through a rebrand in 2018 and in October they revealed their new look website. The exciting development

comes on the back of the firm exhibiting at the DSEI Show in London which is recognised as a world-leading event that connects governments, national armed forces, industry thought leaders and the global defence and security supply chain. Consultant Joe Brooks said: “Exhibiting at the DSEI Show proved very valuable for us, in terms of meeting existing clients, speaking to new clients about upcoming work and being able to network. “As a business, we hold

these kinds of events in high regard as it does help us stay visible. “Looking forward, 2020

looks to be a very successful year across the business. Various projects are set to kick off, meaning our orderbook is getting busier by the day. “We are delighted to have

become a member of the Milton Keynes Chamber and very much look forward to continuing to network and meet people across the Chamber, over the next 12 months and beyond.”

director Jo Carter (pictured, inset) said: “There are several low-cost ideas that can help you to peak an applicants’ interest, such as flexible working, enhanced or unlimited

holidays, employee discount schemes, learning opportunities and conference tickets. “Did you know that if you’re a

fellow member of Milton Keynes Chamber your employees get free access to AXA PPP Healthcare’s Health at Hand service? This gives them a 24/7 confidential telephone helpline, providing health information and support from a team of nurses, counsellors, midwives and pharmacists. They can also talk to a counsellor about how they’re feeling or ask a midwife about pregnancy. “There are many other things

RAISING A GLASS TO AN EXPANDING TEAM

other medical sector recruiters, has faced stark challenges in recent years, as the Government twice imposed caps on the amount NHS

hospitals can spend on temporary medical staff, and introduced a new tax system for locums. But its agencies overcame those challenges and are on track for record annual turnover and profits - hence the move to the new 10,000 sq ft offices which even has an in- house pub! Group director Glenn Cook said:

“We’ve always placed great store on providing our people with top- class working conditions and industry-leading remuneration packages. “We’re now launching a major

recruitment drive to bring our staffing up to 130, quadrupling the team over the past five years.”
