ALL THE LATEST NEWS, VIEWS AND STORIES FROM AROUND YOUR LOCAL AREA:NOVEMBER/DECEMBER All Saints’ loves to read at an early age

All Saints' Primary School likes to encourage a love of reading from an early age and so, in their very first term, our Reception children had two fascinating visits. The first was a visit from the School Library Van, which came to the school. All the classes had their own session in the mobile library to explore all the books before each child chose a book to borrow. For our Reception class, this was the children's first experience of the travelling library and they had a wonderful time.

The second visit was to Cockermouth Library where, after thoroughly exploring the library, the children excitedly collected their free pack of books from the Book Trust.

Reading is promoted at all levels at All Saints’ School and Parents / Carers are encouraged to be actively involved in their children's journey with special evenings for Parents / Carers to chat to their child's teacher about ways they can help their child to read.
