GEM FRIENDS
South County Regional Library, group since 2012. “One of our goals is to get younger families involved.” Te Friends, found- ed in 2004, plays an integral role in sponsoring and supporting many of the incredible programs, services and events offered by the library. Te Friends organization actively promotes and supports the library through book sales, fundraising events, guest author appearances and public programs. Te group helps provide support for everything from concerts, speakers, summer reading programs and special events, to supplies and furniture. Te Friends organization has raised an impressive $226,700 for the library through fundraising and donations. Tey hold two enormous used book sales annually, and several pop-up sales throughout the year, featuring large print, hard- cover, paperback, nonfiction and fiction books, DVDs, CDs and puzzles.
