Texas Hill Country Barrel Racing Association’s benefit
for the Jacey Smathers Endowed Scholarship, held in Dripping Springs August 18, paid out $22,498. There was an amazing turnout. Lisa Nicholas won the Open 1D with 17.171.
The X-Treme Team Roping Finals, held August 22-25 in
Stephenville, TX, paid out $315,100! Arkansas Barrel Racing Association’s August 24 com-
petition, held at Hestand Stadium in Pine Bluff, resulted in win- ners Amanda Kyne on Starlight (Open 4D), and Layton Neal on My Freckles Scoot (Youth-3D).
South Louisiana Team Sorting Association’s August 24
event resulted in winning teams Mason Taylor & Brianna Clack (Youth), Kelly Brian & Danny Perkins (#6 -HC 2-Man-Ranch), Chris Brian *Danny Perkins (#10-HD-2-Man-Ranch), and Bill Mayfield/Renee Free, & Jeffery Barnes (#15-HC-3-Man-2- Gate). zler, held in Ardmore, OK, August 30-September 1, was a fun show with a fantastic set of judges plus a great crew that worked hard and put on a smooth show for the ex- hibitors. The JL Truck & Trailer Series, organized by Jared
Lesh and held August 30-September 1 at the Lazy E Arena, Guthrie, OK, was team sorters’ place to be! Prizes included 3 trucks, 2 trailers, 3 saddles, and a golf cart, com- petition was hot. As HP Open winner, Niki Saggione net- ted a new truck, and Travis Treiheit received the same as #8 HP rider. Cody Accord, HP for #14, got a new golf cart. Among the winning teams were Joe Beck and Linda De- lude (#8) and Tanner Keith and Michael Accord (#14).
The Arkansas State Championship Horse Show
was held August 30-September 2, at Barton Coliseum in Little Rock. The North East Association was high-point association. High-point individuals included Cash Neal (Pee-Wee), Shelby Kee (Buckaroo), Makenzie Brazil (Jr), and Larry Brazil (Sr). As all, net proceeds benefitted Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
