Kirsty & Martin Roberts


Can you tell us about yourselves (names, ages, where you met, how long you have been together, about the marriage proposal?) Kirstie I am 27 years of age and Martyn I am 29 years of age. We met on a night out with friends Martyn offered to buy me a drink and we got chatting exchanged numbers and here we are 5 years later married. Martyn proposed to me at home he cooked a nice romantic meal and popped the question.


Did you have a theme to your wedding? Our theme for our wedding vintage.


Where and when did you get married? We got married at the Giltar Hotel in Tenby on the 6th July 2019.


Did you write your own vows? No we used the original vows.


Can you tell us about your rings? Our rings are just simple really, Martyn’s is just a plain white gold band and mine is just a white gold band with small diamonds on the top.


Who was in the wedding party? (Bridesmaids, flower girls, page boys, ring bearers, best man, ushers etc., and their names and relationships to you?)


Best man was Mikey Llewelyn Groom’s Best Friend, Flower Girl’s were Amellia – Martyn’s Daughter, Lily and Harper – Bride’s Nieces


Ushers where Jamie – Brother-In-Law and Leigh – Groom’s friend Bridesmaids were Sophie – Bride’s sister, Lisa, Laura and Karen – Bride’s Best Friends.


How long before the big day did you start planning it? We set our date 2 years from the proposal


Did you go to a wedding fair for ideas? We didn’t go to any wedding fairs we pretty knew what we wanted so just used the internet for tips and ideas.


What was your gown like? (was it specially made or did you pur- chase it from a shop?


If so by whom and where? Can you describe it?) My gown was an ivory full length dress with a lace bodies


Who did your hair and make-up?


Hair and make up was done the brilliant girls at renatus hair and beauty


Did you have a bouquet? (If so, who was your florist and did they also do arrangements for the church and table decorations at the reception?) Yes, I had a beautiful bouquets made by the wonderful lady at petals of Pembrokeshire they did all of the bridal groups flowers.


Did you have any favours? Yes our wedding favours where Yankee wedding day candles for the ladies, scratch cards for the men and sweet bags for the children.


What did the bridesmaids wear? They wore full length dusky pink dresses.


And what about the groom and the groomsmen (were their suits hired or purchased and where from?)


Their suites where all hired from Mr Roberts in Pembroke dock.


Where was the reception and can you tell us about it? (how many guests, was it a sit-down meal or buffet, did you have an evening party/entertainment/fireworks?)


All the wedding was at the Giltar Hotel the day guests had a sit down meal and it then went into the even at 7pm where we then had a buffet at 9pm there where 50 day guests and then a further 50ish at the evening.


What was your first dance? Our first dance was Ed Shereen - Perfect


Did you have a photographer and videographer (If so, who?) Yes, our photographer was Beverley Thomas


Did you have a cake? (Who made it and can you describe it?) Yes, Steph Cupcakes and it was a 3 tier cake with a bird cage cake topper


What mode of transport did you have on the big day? Bride stayed at the hotel the night before and groom used a mini bus to get to the hotel with the groomsmen and close family.


Where were your hen and stag nights?


Hen night was a local coastal pub crawl and then into Haverfordwest and the stag went to Swansea and then back into Milford-Haven.


Did you go away on honeymoon? (and where?) We are going to Blackpool on our honeymoon as going abroad got cancelled as we found out we where expecting just before the wed- ding!


What was your favourite moment of the big day? I loved it all I would do it all again tomorrow. It all went to fast.


What would be your top tips for a bride-to-be? Just enjoy it as is all goes to quick and try and take it all on the day as it’s done in a flash.
