How was your networking experience with other industry professionals during the DATIA Annual Conference?
Estelle Jenkins Know Before You Go Drug & Alcohol Testing
Being a member of DATIA enables me to take my business in numerous directions throughout the drug and alcohol testing industry.
My networking experience gave me the opportunity to connect with other industry professionals to make new business connections and learn from one another. Tis has translated into me learning about new drug testing vendors, suppliers, and technology that allows me to be more efficient. In addition, it enabled me to market to a new clientele and secure more contracts. During the conference, I was able to share how my business has grown over a brief period as well as some of the mistakes that I made along the way. I was transparent that even through the mistakes, I was able to learn valuable lessons, which only fueled my drive and resolve to work that much harder to grow my business. Te other professionals and I were able to swap stories to learn from one another’s experiences, and exchange business cards and social media contacts. In the short time that I spent networking, I formed a new circle of friends who truly understand that it takes hard work, perseverance, and grit to become an entrepreneur and grow a successful business. I am already looking forward to next year’s conference to make new connections and see those with whom I formed bonds this year!
What is the value of a DATIA membership to you and your organization?
Te value of a DATIA membership is priceless, and membership truly has its privileges! Being a member of DATIA enables me to take my business in numerous
directions throughout the drug and alcohol testing industry. During the conference, I atended the Certified Professional Collector Trainer® (CPCT) Course. Te course provided me with the instruction and resource materials that enabled me to design, develop, and deliver a collector training program that will provide necessary content to collection personnel. Tis training will help them to become DATIA- Certified Professional Collectors. Tis training provides them the ability to be proficient in providing collection services according to proper regulations and guidelines that ensure the privacy, integrity, and security of the donor and the specimen. Being a member of DATIA provides me and my business with a wealth of education and ongoing training opportunities.
What is a fun fact about your organization that you would like to share?
It was both challenging and fun for me to come up with a name for my business. I wanted a name that was catchy and that people would remember—in the end, I came up with Know Before You Go Drug and Alcohol Testing. Another fun fact is the people I come into contact with each and every day. When I am able to provide the service that they need, it puts a big smile on my face, and my clients see it and know that I appreciate their business. I have goten numerous referrals and new contracts just based on a good experience that I was able to provide. In addition, there’s nothing like the satisfaction of knowing you’re responsible for guiding the success of your employees. Your ideas provide them the opportunity to earn a living, provide for their families, and fulfill their own dreams. ❚
