CHRISTOPH ACKERMANN BDP

Craig Sheach Bhupinder Singh Chawla

CRAIG SHEACH & BHUPINDER SINGH CHAWLA PRP

Architecture firm PRP has promoted directors Craig Sheach and Bhupinder Singh Chawla to the role of partner. Both are based in the practice’s London studio. Craig, who has been with the practice for six years, will continue to work across a number of residential-led regeneration schemes, large mixed-use town centre sites and co-location masterplans. He is currently leading on a number of schemes in London and the south, including a new urban quarter in Reading, the regeneration of Redhill Town Centre, and Lewisham Gateway. Bhupinder has been with the practice for 20 years and has extensive experience in housing and mixed-use projects, including large scale regeneration projects. He is particularly skilled at realising the technical design of projects from inception, through planning to completion for private developers, local authorities and housing associations. Most recently he’s been leading on the creation of PRP’s first 100 per cent volumetric development on behalf of Pocket Living in Chiswick, and has submitted a regeneration project for detailed planning for Peabody in Lambeth. Brendan Kilpatrick, senior partner, said, “PRP's London studio has grown by more than 25 per cent over the past six months with an expansion in our masterplanning and town centre regeneration capability. Bhupinder and Craig's promotions recognise their contribution to the practice and enhance our capability in providing an exemplary standard of service and design quality for our clients.”

NICK BLAKE SELF ARCHITECTS & WHITE DESIGN

Self Architects and White Design have appointed a new associate director to head up its expanding London office. Nick Blake has worked for a number of leading practices designing and delivering major residential, commercial and masterplanning schemes from concept to completion in the UK and internationally. Nick said, “I am delighted to be joining this exciting architecture and design practice as it looks to further expand its portfolio of work across a range of sectors in London and the south east. In heading up the London office, I look forward to playing an important role in delivering the future growth strategy of the team.”

BDP has appointed Christoph Ackermann to principal. Christoph is an architect in the Glasgow studio, where he leads the higher education, workplace, and science research and technology sectors and is currently working on significant projects including the University of Strathclyde’s Learning and Teaching building. Chief executive John McManus said, “We are delighted to invite Christoph to become a principal. His expertise and successful track record in delivering significant education projects, coupled with his ability to develop strong positive relationships with clients, will contribute enormously to the growth of the practice, both in Scotland and internationally.”

GRANT GIBLETT RG+P

Multi-disciplinary design practice rg+p has appointed a new director alongside a regional and national award recognition. Grant Giblett, who has been with the practice for seven years, has joined the board of directors in recognition of his success developing the London studio, which is poised to relocate to facilitate expansion. Established in 2012, the London studio initially started with just two architects and Grant has since grown the team to 18, representing specialists in architecture, master planning and urban design. Grant said: “We’re working on some really significant schemes across the Boroughs, and are establishing a reputation for thoughtful and innovative design.
