A Message from the Commissioner of Agriculture There’s something for everyone at Florida’s fairs and livestock shows.

Year in and year out, countless Floridians and visitors get a full serving of fun and a taste of Florida’s rich agricultural heritage at world-class fairs and livestock shows across the state. From agricultural exhibits and youth competitions to musi- cal entertainment and thrilling rides, there’s truly something for everyone at Flori- da’s fairs and livestock shows.

These events are a great opportunity for Floridians and visitors to reconnect with agriculture, the state’s oldest industry, and learn about its impact on the state’s economy and its role in feeding our nation and the world. Today, Florida’s agriculture industry produces 300 commodities, has a more than $120 billion impact on our economy, and supports more than 2 million jobs.

Engaging Florida residents, particularly Florida’s youth, in agricultural exhibits and competitions at fairs and livestock shows helps us continue the rich traditions of Florida agriculture for generations to come. And en- couraging your friends and neighbors to participate in all that Florida’s fairs and livestock shows have to offer this year can do the same.

Nicole “Nikki” Fried Commissioner of Agriculture
