Faircracker SUMMER 2019

Congratulations to the Florida Federation of Fairs Board and Executive Director Lisa Hinton and her team for producing another amazing combined Federation and Zone 2 meeting in St. Augustine this past May. Although I was unable to attend due to a family matter, all reports I received said how beneficial the classes and meetings were. Thank you to all of the Zone 2 attendees who attended and contributed to making the seminar even better. Everyone’s shared knowledge is so important to our industry. Now that we are into the summer season, many of our Zone 2 Fairs are

either underway or upcoming very soon. As always, our communities are excited about the chance to experience all that our Fairs have to offer. If your schedule allows, one of the best opportunities for learning is to visit other Fairs. A calendar of Fairs is available for IAFE members at fairsandexpos.com. All Florida Fairs are available on the Federation website as well.

I recommend you treat yourself to a visit to a neighboring Fair

within your state or one of the other Zone 2 states. Let them know you are coming! Everyone loves having visitors from other Fairs. Finally, never hesitate to reach out to the IAFE office for as-

sistance with any issue you may have regarding your Fair op- erations. The staff there is ALWAYS ready to lend a hand to help make our Fairs better. Also, be sure to make the annual IAFE convention a must this year. I have seen the preliminary program and it is outstanding. Registration is open and you are able to reserve your rooms now. Be sure to do so early so you can save money and get your accommodations in the ho- tel of your choice. Several scholarships are also available to offset some of the costs so visit the IAFE website (fairsandexpos.com) for information on how to apply. I wish each of you the best of luck with your Fair this year! I look forward to seeing you in San Antonio where we will celebrate the “Champions of Change” convention. It is a privilege serving as your Zone 2 Director.
