From The President Hello Friends- First of all, I want to say what an honor it is to serve as the Florida

Federation of Fairs and Livestock Shows President for 2019-2020. I look forward to what this upcoming year has in store and hope to visit you all at your Fairs. I hope that everyone that attended this year's convention came

away with a new idea or a new friend. It takes an army of people to put on such a wonderful event. I want to personally thank all of the committee chairs and members that had a part in this year's con- vention! I also want to thank all of those that served as presenters or moderators for all of our great topics, your experience and knowledge is a huge asset to the federation. As you might have heard, Lisa Hinton is retiring as Executive Director of the Florida

Federation of Fairs. Lisa has been the backbone of this organization for the past 13 years and will be hard to replace. I wish Lisa all the best in retirement as I know she will get to spend some quality family time with her grand kids. That being said, my first duty as president was to find her replacement, I want to thank the committee that was appointed to undertake this task. Paul Davis, Fran Crone, Terry Atchley, Jim Ward and Stacey Wade thank you for everything you did during the process to select our new Executive Director of the Florida Federation of Fairs, Dan West of Palmetto Florida. I am excited for the future of the Federation under Dan's guidance. The Annual "Dream Fair Trip" will be to the Wisconsin State Fair, August 8-11. This will

be a trip to remember as our friends at the Wisconsin State Fair will roll out the red carpet for our group. We will attend the Fair on Friday and Saturday and are also planning a trip to a Major League baseball game where my brothers have agreed to host us to an au- thentic Wisconsin tailgate before the Brewers take on the Rangers. Mark your calendars for the 2019 Summer Workshop, Sept 6th and 7th to be held in

Jacksonville Florida. We have a great room rate at the Doubletree riverfront at $89/ night. Terry Atchley and the Summer workshop committee are putting together a great program that you won't want to miss. Also, The Jacksonville Fair is holding its' 3rd annual Charity Sporting Clay Shoot on Thursday Sept 5th, so come a day early and join in the fun! De- tails are at www.jacksonvillefair.com/clayshoot. I hope you all have a great summer and I look forward to seeing you in Wisconsin!
