MUNICIPAL The City of Medicine Hat is governed by a council composed of a mayor and eight councillors, elected for a term of four years.


City council meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of each month in council chambers at City Hall, located at 580 First St. SE.


PROVINCIAL Medicine Hat and surrounding area has two representatives in the Provincial Legislature. The two Members of Legislative Assembly for the area are: Drew Barnes, MLA for Cypress- Medicine Hat and Michaela Glasgo, MLA for Brooks-Medicine Hat. Both are members of the United Conservative Party.
