PARKS & TRAILS ECHO DALE REGIONAL PARK


Head toward Lethbridge on Gershaw Drive/Highway 3, turn right on Holsom Road, and follow the signs


Whether you’re looking to soak up the sun, cool off with a swim, or simply seeking an escape to fresh air and natural beauty, Echo Dale has what you need. Featuring a swimming lake from June through Labour Day, the park is one of Medicine Hat’s most popular summer spots. Echo Dale also boasts an historic farm site, which offers tours from May long weekend through Labour Day, plus concession building, day-use area, camping and more.


POLICE POINT PARK


Enter at Police Point Drive off Parkview Drive


A naturalist’s dream, Police Point sits on the north side of the South Saskatchewan River and is home to the Police Point Park Nature Centre, which houses the Medicine Hat Interpretive programs and


exhibits all year round. Surrounded by wildlife, flora and grasslands, the park offers nearly 250 acres of wilderness and trail, and lots of access to the river for non-motorized watercraft. For information on available interpretive programming call 403-529-6225.


STRATHCONA ISLAND PARK


Enter at Fifth Street SE and Minto Avenue


Featuring more than 5 km of trails winding along the southwestern banks of the South Saskatchewan River, Strathcona Island Park is the perfect spot for a big wedding or reunion, or simply a quiet picnic with an amazing view. Kids will enjoy the playground equipment and splash park, while adults make a fire, grill up some grub and put the motorboat on the water from the boat launch. The park also features north and south cool huts. The south hut has adjacent access to the playground and splash park and can be pre-booked for parties at 403-502-8745.


17 KIN COULEE PARK


Enter at Kipling Street SE or College Avenue


Able to host just about any outdoor gathering, Medicine Hat’s signature Kin Coulee Park, just off the Trans-Canada, has a little bit of everything. Picnic areas with fire pits and 100 acres of open green space? Check. Toboggan hill? You bet. Baseball diamonds and beach volleyball courts? Of course. Trails, wildlife, a wedding area, band shell, playground equipment and more? Absolutely. To reserve the wedding area and band shell call 403-502-8745.

11th Street SE and Third Avenue Playground equipment, splash park, picnic area, disc golf course, washroom facilities.


LIONS PARK


Adjacent to Strathcona Island Riverfront views, picnic area, tennis courts, ball diamonds and fitness trails.


RIVERSIDE VETERANS’ MEMORIAL PARK


First Street SE and Sixth Avenue downtown


Relax by the river, visit the cenotaph, check out two CPR locomotives and a World War II tank.


ROTARY PARK


N. Railway Street Tall trees, beautiful flowerbeds and a gazebo make this park a popular spot for weddings.
