health experiences and they define what is most important to BGSA Radiology …. patient care.


The patient, whether young or old, is a priority for Dr. Mark Gripp, Dr. Robert Stubbs, Thomas Strain and manager Wendy Martin- Gutjahr and all of their 50 team members in Medicine Hat and satellite clinic in Brooks.


The current BGSA Radiology Inc. practise started in September 1997, as Blair, Stubbs and Associates Radiology. Dr. Ken Blair and Dr. Robert Stubbs partnered to take over the Diagnostic Imaging practise located in the old Medical Arts Centre (now Mohawk Medical Clinic). It was a small 2,000 square foot practise with nine employees and offered mammography; two ultrasound and two radiology rooms. Within a couple of months, a Bone Mineral Densitometry (BMD) unit was added to the practice, and the growth was underway. Thomas Strain, the current CEO, joined the partnership in 2000 as the clinic continued to expand to the point of growing out of their space at the Medical Arts Centre.


Because the philosophy of the ownership has always been, to provide the residents of Medicine Hat and surrounding area with their Diagnostic Imaging tests locally, Blair Stubbs, as the public referred to it, moved into their current location and continued to add services in order to keep up with the demand.


In 2006, another huge renovation was undertaken to add 2,500 more square feet to the practice. This
