Fourthmurder charge follows fatal stabbing
A FOURTH person has been charged in connection with the murder ofWesleyAdyinka. Mr Adkyinka (37), pictured,
was fatally stabbed in an incident near his Knightrider Street home in February. His death sparked a flood of
tributes to a kind man who had battled through troubles in his own life. Now a man from Surrey has
been charged with “joint venture murder”. He appeared before MaidstoneCrownCourt onMay 2. A statement from Kent Police
said: “Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Direc- torate have charged a fourth per- son in connection with the death of aman inMaidstone. “Wesley Adyinka died follow-
ing an incident near his home in Knightrider Street during the early hours of Sunday, February 10.He had suffered a stabwound
to his chest. “A woman in her 30s also sus-
tained a stabwound at the scene. “On Tuesday, April 30, Julian
Grant (27), of Mitcham, Surrey, was charged with joint venture murder and grievous bodily harm with intent, following au-
thorisation fromthe Crown Pros- ecution Service.He appeared at a hearing beforeMaidstone Crown Court on Thursday,May 2. “Three others have previously
been charged in connection with the incident. “Kevin Roach (39), of South
Norwood, London, was charged with murder the day after Mr Adyinka’s death. He is also ac- cused of causing grievous bodily harmwith intent to thewoman in her 30s, who sustained a stab wound. “Rodney Harris (37), of Croy-
don, Surrey, and a 17-year-old boy from Streatham, south west London have also been charged with joint venture murder and grievous bodily harm with in- tent.” All four suspects have been re-
manded in custody and will next appear at a hearing beforeMaid- stone Crown Court onMay 17.
