Microsoft Hub2S prototypes unveiled

The second generation of Mic- rosoft’s hub has been subject to some degree of speculation and no little confusion. But on the 17th April, Microsoft joined Steelcase in New York to share their vision for empowering teams by unveiling new details about the Surface Hub 2S prod- uct line, introducing the new 85-inch screen size and bringing unprecedented, battery-enabled mobility to the 50-inch collabo- ration device. “When Surface

started, we

were a team of 12 all working together in a secret lab in Red- mond. Collaboration was a con- stant and it was simple – at least in terms of location. Today, we’re a team spread across the globe, working closely with groups across Microsoft not just to build devices, but to create connected and complete experiences,” ex- plained the company.

Surface Hub 2S is designed to fit any space – from a traditional conference room to a compact huddle space. “The vibrant 4K+

Surface Hub.” Price was also an issue with original model: Surface Hub 2S will start shipping in the U.S. in June and will be priced at $8,999.99. Surface Hub 2S gives teams the flexibility to come together wherever they work best. It takes something that has long been a fixture in the conference room – the shared screen – and transforms it into a mobile computer, built for teams. When paired with the Steelcase Roam Mobile Stand and APC Charge Mobile Battery, Surface Hub 2S creates a mobile collaboration experience that frees teams from the conference room, even when no AC power connectivity is available.

busy Formula One schedule to be our guest speaker. He has enjoyed a distinguished career in motor sport and has been Team Principal at Red Bull Racing since 2005. Under his tenure, the team has secured 59 wins and 60 pole positions. I am certain he will provide great insight into what it takes to manage a successful team in a high profile, sport and business that uses the latest technology to gain a competi- tive edge.” Plug In To Exertis will feature four dedicated exhibition areas focused on business, AV, enter- prise and consumer solutions, a seminar programme and a host of show-floor features de-

sellers’ plans for growth in 2019, as well as sessions from market leading vendors, Micro- soft, Dell and Samsung. The AV area will showcase the additional vendors and solutions following the Stam- pede integration including digital signage and video wall control to audio, collaboration and emerging technologies like drones. Finally, the enterprise area will highlight solutions ranging from server, storage, networking and HCI to securi- ty, wireless, UC, software and the cloud. The integration of Oblong’s Rumpus integration with BlueJeans is a seamless way to experience the benefits of sharing multiple screens, seeing each other’s cursors, joint annotation of content, and easy transition between speaking with colleagues or collaborating with the content they are sharing. But what if you're not a BlueJeans user? What if you still rely on audio calls for your meetings? To reach a wider pool of us- ers, Rumpus can now be used with any conferencing app, so a BlueJeans account is no longer a requirement to host a meeting. If users have a confer- encing solution they prefer, they can now use it in parallel with Rumpus. They can even set themselves up for one-click meetings. Oblong is now working to integrate more conferencing solutions

Established in 1979 by husband and wife David and Ruth Watson, Midwich Computer Company initially sold computer components and supplied BBC comput- ers to schools and colleges. In 1991, the business was sold to Memec PLC, an Ox- fordshire-based distribution company.

In the mid-1990s the Com- pany decided to focus on trade

In 2006, Midwich started a pro- gramme of acquisition, focusing initially on building its range of specialist AV products, and lat- terly using acquisition to enter new geographical markets. In 2016, Midwich celebrated a milestone when it was admitted to the London Stock Exchange’s AIM market with a market cap- italization of £165m and be- came Midwich Group plc. The Group’s development has con- tinued apace following its flo- tation, with turnover increasing by over 80% and the net profit doubling.
