ALL HAIL THE HAY FESTIVAL. . . 23RD MAY TO 2ND JUNE

The Hay Festival is back from 23rd May to 2nd June, and this year promises an exciting line up of speakers who, like the 250,000 plus attendees are united in the pursuit of literacy, artistic expression and human connection. Described by Bill Clinton as "The Woodstock of the mind", this convivial gathering in Hay-on-Wye has a vibe all of its own!

Speakers at this famous international event are an eclectic mix of intellectuals - from novelists and poets to journalists, scientists, actors, comedians, professors, politicians and musicians. The foodie side of the festival has also grown and includes food villages where you can buy everything from a sandwich to a three course meal.

Entry to the Hay Festival as a whole is free of charge, but individual events (certain lectures, debates and conversations) generally require the purchase of a ticket. This year award- winning writers gather to launch new work, while global policy makers, pioneers and innovators seek solutions to the biggest issues of our time, from the rise of populism to the climate crisis. Over 600 speakers to include the likes of Stephen Fry, Huw Edwards, Stig Abell, Dylan Jones, Monty Don, DJ Target and Emily Maitlis are sure to spark debate and interest. If you're lucky enough to be invited, GQ and Land Rover also throw an awesome private party...
